AMAC/ Tools for Life offers Assistive Technology Evaluations, Assistive Technology Assessments, Speech Assessments, and Assistive Technology Group Trainings

The AMAC/Tools for Life Assistive Technology evaluation is an individualized tailored report, which includes recommendations based on academic and/or workplace environments. A certified Assistive Technology Practitioner (ATP) or assistive technology professional such as an Occupational Therapist, Occupational Assistant, or Physical Therapist, administers the assessment in a one-on-one session. The ATP certification is a generalist certification that covers a broad range of assistive technologies. Assistive Technology (AT) areas addressed by the program include: seating and mobility, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), cognitive aids, computer access, electronic aids to daily living (EADL), sensory, recreation, environmental modification, accessible transportation and technology for learning disabilities. We like to review ahead of time any past relevant evaluation documentation/reports; i.e., psychological, medical, physical therapy, occupational therapy or speech therapy reports, and/or individualized education plans (IEP), 504 plans, etc.) Assistive technology evaluations are priced at a $450.00 flat rate plus mileage if outside the ATLANTA Metro area.

The AMAC/ Tools for Life Speech Assessment individualized tailored report, which includes recommendations based on communication needs. A licensed Speech Language Pathologist administers the assessment in one-on-one sessions. These assessments can take 5-7 hours over multiple visits. The sessions include the speech assessment, report writing, setting up the devices after it arrives and intial training on the device. Speech Assessments are prices at $125 per hour plus mileage if outside the Atlanta Metro Area.


AMAC also provides assistive technology training services for groups. AMAC AT services are supported by the Tools for Life Program, which is located at AMAC. Training sessions are priced at $125.00 per hour. Please note that the prices for trainings are not a fixed rate. Steps To Receive an AMAC/Tools for Life Assistive Technology Services

  • Register for services at Click to go to the AMAC registration page(Choose Assistive Technology from Drop-Down, Fill out required fields, Click "Next", Accept Agreement...)
  • Within 5-7 business days you will be contacted to set-up an in-person AT Consultation at the AMAC office.
  • A Written Report for an AT Evaluation or AT Assessment will be provided within 10 business days from consultation visit.
