Captioning and Described Media Services Information

Service Description
Remote Real-Time Captioning (Text Interpreting) Can be provided in any environment that has an Internet connection. Our captionists will listen to your live event or class remotely and provide access for your client(s) or student(s) by real-time text interpreting of the spoken information. Text Interpreting is a meaning-based or summarized account of the spoken message. It includes significant information delivered by the speaker, without all of the extraneous nuances of spoken language, which may sometimes be difficult to understand by those with hearing loss or language-based disabilities. Notes of the session are sent to the student/recipient as an RTF document within 24 hours of the event. Captioning is also available for webinars and large events.
*Please contact the Captioning and Described Media Services team to learn more.
Remote Real-Time CART Can be provided in any environment that has an Internet connection. Our captionists will listen to your live event or class remotely and provide access for your client(s) or student(s) in real-time. Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) is provided remotely when access to every single word is necessary. CART is a verbatim account of everything that is spoken. CART is most effective for providing access to late-deafened adults who are accustomed to hearing all the elements of spoken language or ESL individuals. Transcripts of the session are sent to the student/recipient as an RTF document within 24 hours of the event. Captioning is also available for webinars and large events.
*Please contact the Captioning and Described Media Services team for a quote.
Captioned Media AMAC adds captions to video content used in the classroom, on an e-learning platform, or anywhere else. We provide a wide variety of closed caption formats for use on the Web, on social media, and in broadcast TV studios. We can also produce open captions, with the captions (“subtitles”) permanently overlaid onto the video, so you never have to worry about how to toggle the captions on or off. Our announced turn-around time is 7-14 business days for captioned media, with an option to request expedited delivery (2 business days) for more time-sensitive projects.

Transcripts Written transcripts of audio only recordings (not fully accessible for video applications). Transcripts are provided in the following formats: .doc, PDF, .txt, RTF. Our announced turn-around time is 7-14 business days for transcription. Certainly we are able to complete a project with a faster turn-around time for our members, just let us know at order entry.

Audio Description Audio Description is a method of creating accessibility for visual images present in video media for individuals who have vision related disabilities. AMAC Accessibility can make your media fully accessible by adding vivid, succinct, and objectively narrated descriptions of prescient visual content. We can help ensure that persons with vision related disabilities experience what sighted individuals take for granted.
